Our story
Livermore Livestock Care was born from a very personal place. For years, Amy and her family cared for her own horses, cattle, pigs, goats and other livestock, and like many others in the area, she often faced the challenge of finding reliable help when life pulled her away from the ranch. Vacations, weekend getaways, and emergency trips brought fear and anxiety of who would take care of the animals and if something went wrong would they know how to handle it? Too often, the only people available were inexperienced with livestock — and trusting valuable animals to someone without the right knowledge never felt comfortable.
Drawing on over 40 years of hands-on experience, Amy decided to turn that problem into a solution for her community. She recognized that many ranchers, farmers, and horse owners — especially as they age or face limited help — need dependable support with everyday tasks like feeding, turnout, exercise, or even assisting with farrier and veterinary visits. They too were experience the same fears for the wellbeing of their animals and would avoid taking trips and relaxing.
Livermore Livestock Care was created to fill that gap: to give owners peace of mind knowing their animals are cared for by someone with true experience, compassion, and dedication. It’s more than a business — it’s a way to support the ranching lifestyle and strengthen the Livermore community by making sure no one has to choose between leaving their animals unattended or entrusting them to the inexperienced.
About Amy
Amy’s passion for animals and ranch life started young. Riding horses has always been her first love since the days of riding Flicka, her godfather’s horse, on Morgan Territory. She joined 4-H at the age of nine and continued her journey through FFA until graduation, raising multiple species of market animals along the way. Her early years were filled with riding and working polo horses, competing in junior rodeo, advancing to high school rodeo, and eventually competing in the CCPRA rodeo circuit.
That lifelong dedication has carried into the next generation. For the past seven years, Amy’s children have followed in her footsteps, raising steers, pigs, and turkeys through 4-H and FFA. Amy has supported them every step of the way, while also stepping into the role of 4-H Horse and Turkey Leader. In this role, she helps local youth discover the joy of horsemanship, learn rodeo skills, and gain confidence in the arena.
Today, Amy lives on a 5-acre ranch in Livermore, home to a variety of livestock species. Beyond caring for her own animals, she assists local cattle and horse owners with their livestock needs, providing reliable care and peace of mind. Her ranch has also become a hub for young exhibitors — a place where kids can raise their market livestock for the county fair, learn proper care, and receive the support they need when questions or challenges arise.
With over 40 years of hands-on experience, Amy combines her deep knowledge of animal care with a commitment to mentoring the next generation. Through Livermore Livestock Care, she continues her lifelong mission: helping animals thrive and ensuring owners — and their families — always have someone experienced they can count on.
